Is the BMW Vision Next 100 the strangest concept ever produced?

The highly-anticipated BMW Vision Next 100 concept, built to celebrate the brand’s 100th birthday, has finally been unveiled and it’s better than we could have ever imagined.

It’s hard to believe that BMW has been around for 100 years. We are so familiar with the brand that we simply don’t give it much thought, but it’s fascinating to see that BMW is still going strong and is more popular than ever before.

A highly unique and fascinating new concept has been built to commemorate the occasion. BMW went all out, experimenting with new ideas and technologies of the future.

The Vision Next 100 is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. It sports completely unique styling that’s both futuristic and bold. Instead of using a standard steel body, BMW decided to experiment with carbonfibre and plastic to create something it hasn’t attempted before.

On top of that, the new concept experiments with autonomous technology. In theory the car would give the driver an option to switch between modes, allowing them to take control of the car should they desire to do so.

To enter the Vision Next 100 all you need is the key, which has a built in sensor that opens the doors as you approach the vehicle. The wing-style doors look fantastic and match the car’s aesthetic perfectly.

The great thing about the new concept is that it works as a whole. Many different elements and technologies were included so it’s fantastic to see that the brand managed to pull it off. Everything goes together and nothing feels out of place.

Inside, the vehicle is spacious and just as unique. The dashboard is simple yet futuristic-looking, which gives the interior an interesting finish.

Unfortunately, the Vision Next 100 isn’t going to enter production as it was merely a concept designed to showcase the brand’s ideas of what’s to come in the future.

As the name suggests, the Next 100 was simply the brand’s way of experimenting with intriguing ideas that will potentially appear on its future models.

What do you think of the concept? If it entered production would you purchase it considering it would likely come with a steep price tag?
