McLaren has just revealed its plans to showcase the new P1 GTR, designed to celebrate and pay tribute to James Hunt.
The 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed is nearly upon us. It’s already shaping up to be an incredible event, with numerous cars scheduled to appear. That’s not the only thing taking place at the festival; however, as more big names keep getting added to the guest list.
The event will celebrate James Hunt, a renowned racing driver who passed away in 1993. He won the Formula 1 Championship back in 1976, after which her retired in 1979.
McLaren, has built a one-off vehicle, to celebrate the driver’s life and his achievements.
Although the car is not meant for production, it will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which is taking place next week.
If you’re a fan of speed and racing, the Goodwood Festival is the place to be. Numerous, incredible cars will be showcased and a vast selection of racing drivers will appear to celebrate speed, their achievements and the future of racing.
The P1 GTR, isn’t the only McLaren scheduled to make an appearance. The brand will showcase their whole current line-up, giving all attendees a rare opportunity to see the brand’s vehicles in all their glory.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed, is one of the biggest events of its kind, having been around since 1993.
Thousands of fans are expected to make their way down to the event next week, and we can likely expect a lot of pleasant surprises from the organisers.
Although, many cars set to appear have already been announced, more are expected to make an appearance, making the festival a truly unique and one of a kind experience.
Since James Hunt will be celebrated this year, we can probably expect a lot of the attractions to be based around him, his career and his achievements.
